Cha-Ching!

I totally found my money making style!  Everyone that sees it loves it, wants it, can't wait to have it. It's a little bit distressed and a little bit modern. So far I've done 2 pieces like this and as soon as I snap my fingers *click* they're gone! That makes for one very happy Shannon.

So take a peep and let me know what you think!

Everyone loves the mirror! I wish I would have take a few more pictures of the above... unfortunately this was the only one I got before it got snatched up!

Enjoy!!!

Cheers,
Shannon

Ooh La La

So, remember back in my very first blog entry when I talked about that nasty looking dresser that I forgot to get before pictures of to blind you with?

I painted it a tangerine pinkish redish color. The name of the paint is "Lipstick". I think the black lace makes it look sexy!

So, here it is, Lipstick & Lace!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Cheers,
Shannon

And Yet Another Beachy Cabinet (pun intended!)

I must say, this beachy look has become quite popular but this armoire was the project from hell.

Here is the before picture:

I had already started sanding the front of the doors when I realized that I forgot to take the before pictures, so pretend you don't see that.

This cabinet belongs to a client. Before I get into the details, this is the short story on how she aquired this lovely piece. One day she was driving down her street, or maybe she was walking her dogs, or something like that when she came across a garage sale. She saw this piece and immediately like it and wanted it, so she asked the owners how much they wanted for it and their price was incredibly high so she said forget it. Later that evening she was driving by or walking and guess what she saw!?! The same cabinet that had the high price tag sitting on the curb with a free sign!?!

I love stories like that.

Anyways, she found me and knew she wanted it custom painted for her sons room which she was going to do a nautical theme in. We went back and forth trying to come up with colors that wouldn't be to little kidish so that it would be a piece that would last.

She knew she wanted it blue, but at the same time she wanted it to be a piece that she could blend into more than one theme and she also thought that her son would one day come to not like the plain blue. So we decided to paint it blue, then white on top and sand it down so you could see the blue coming through.

I thought this would be an easy project, time consuming yes, but still easy. Man oh man was I wrong about that!!! I think I reprinted this cabinet about 5 times and if it wasn't an issue with the paint it was an issue with sanding it...it felt like it was never going to end.

But it finally did, and I must say that after 2 months of screw ups, it turned out quite well!
